The album was composed and constructed at Kuuskulma, Venäjänkangas during the period of July 2007–April 2008. Leper Angel stands out as an exception, having been recorded at Ostium, Turku in autumn 2006. The tracks found their form and appearance quite spontaneously and intuitively. There is particular a element involved, something that could be described as atavistic resurgence in musical form, a surge of ideas that seem to come from way, way back. As of writing this (August 10, 2008) I'm still pondering some of the contents and especially possible meanings thereof, some of which I seem not consciously aware of.

Previous appearances

This album carries the subtitle the Fourth and Final Appearance. There were previous work-in-progress appearances that were circulated as handfuls of CDRs of different sizes, shapes and contents. These were not thoroughly documented, but in short there were three separate appearances, some of which presented different angles to the same aural objects.

The Fourth and Final Appearance, ie. the CD/Download album that is now more widely available, represents the completed crystallised form of what was previously fluid, unstable and mutating.
