Some Friends - Niko Skorpio

Some Friends

Some Friends examines the use of images in social media in relation to (de)construction of identity.

For the series, Skorpio photographed the screen of his laptop, focusing on images his online friends had posted as their profile pictures in social networks. None of the images portray the actual persons but, instead, various public figures. Seen through the macro lens, the images begin to lose facial characteristics and become vast fields of red, green and blue dots.
