The sketchbook is an essential part of my work process. Sketchbooks provide a memory extension, as well as a space for meditation. My books contain random doodles, ideas about to take form, spontaneous experiments, trial and error, moments of mental stasis, and various other things in rather gaseous and liquid forms. Below are some pages from sketchbooks beginning from around 2010, in no particular order.

“I pretty much use sketchbooks to note down great ideas of somebody else I’ve just had. A good sketchbook means you don’t actually need to bother with having a memory yourself. You can get away with a fair bit of substance abuse if you always carry a notepad and a sharp pencil around with you.” (Banksy)
